Hey guys and Girls. how are you all? Sorry I have not been around for a while. I started training 6 weeks ago. I am cycling 600 miles for charity next year.
Blackpool Tower to Eiffel Tower - in support of a local charity, however each of the regions we cycle through we will be donating 10% of our fund raising to a local charity and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce will match this by 10% also. This will apply on both sides of the channel.

i am one of the main organisers of this event and we seek 100 riders, we announced this six weeks ago and already have 40 riders.

My training currently consist of per week divided by:

Sunday = 24 mile Bike ride - climbing from 233 feet to 1450 feet in 85 mins
Monday = 64 Lengths in Pool in 40 mins
Tuesday = 18mile Bike Ride in 59 mins
Wednesday = 64 lengths in pool in 40 mins
Thursday = 18 miles bike ride in 59 mins
Friday = 1 hour of 11 aside football
Saturday =  providing weather if good I will kayak on Canal for a couple of hours or just rest.

Fruit for breakfast, no fatty crap. Drinking 500mm  of whey protein drink each day, 2 litres of isotonic. 4 magnesium tablets. and whilst my workout may be a little excessive I never intended to lose any weight as I am building muscle.... I have lost 6 pounds, but my upper body has become really ripped. My legs are taking a fine shape and I must say I am becoming addicted to the cycling.

This sunday I will be doing the Blackpool Sky ride (Family ride) about 6 miles, then I will cycle home which is a further 32 miles. Its rather flat. but it will replace my sunday workout, I will try this at speed. Im averaging 17miles per hour and a top speed of 35 miles per hour.

I just need to take up running and i will be ready for a Triathlon or maybe Iron man...

Sadly -  I am 40 years of age and I feel the fittest I have ever been in all my life...

Anyway I have some stock photos that I am working on. so keep watching and i hope to share more info with you soon. ?

God bless you all, God bless "Broken Britain"

Regards

Lee

2011 Has started....

Sun Jan 23, 2011, 2:16 PM

How is it going for you guys ??  Its been sort of slow for me... can't really get the feeling or inspiration to get the camera out, it is cold... miserable... and poor lighting outside...

I turned to my first love last night! Music. I started my IT profession back in 1992 writing computer game music on an old Commodore Amiga 500, then the 1200. It was an awesome machine for its time.
Although the Atari ST had a better sound chip... I still have plenty of my chip toonz and intend to use them in future Photography slideshows. Fact is many of the toonz I wrote 20 years ago would not be out of place today on the Nintendo DS platform, or PSP... :)

Whilst I know its not photography related, I remixed the ADELE - Rolling In The Deep track to a more Chilled out version - Take a listen - Lyrics by Adele, Musix Mixed by me.

youtu.be/qvWEQmB9K3M

Hope you like this.  I intend to do a dance / trance version also.  Sorry Germany for some bizzarre reason Youtube banned this from your country, but I suspect within a day or so it will be on other video sites. I have received some excellent feedback..
i suppose i am just filling the gaps in between the photo shoots. I have some images to work on.. look out for them....

Have a great week...

Leeby :)

Off to the USA

Wed Sep 8, 2010, 3:33 PM

ahh well After the 130 Mile charity bike ride I have a couple of weeks before I am off to the USA for a break :) looking forward to the florida sun. However I am not taking my camera, as every time I go to Florida I never use the camera. Too many things to do. However if I was going to New York that would be different, I would take every bit of camera kit I had. :)
I first purchase a camera (slr) 2008 in New York and have since learned a lot more techniques... so I would like to revisit New York to have another go.  Its just timing for me. busy busy busy...

The Charity I support has asked if I would like to climb Kilimanjaro in March 2011, I would love to do this for two reasons. One to support my chosen charity that helps 3000 kist every week, 2ndly for the photo opportunities. to take pictures from the roof of Africa....
I have talked my brother in law into doing this climb with me, the down side is we need to raise 10k sterling towards the charity... thats 2k sterling per month.... :(  im confident I can get my industry manufacturers and distributors that I operate my business in to cough up some dough...

Anyway there you have it, an update... i managed to raise almost 500 pounds sterling for the bike ride, although I never actually marketed the charity for too long, I could have raised more with a little more effort. :)

4th September 2010

Madness has taken its grip, me and my fellow athletes :) are taking the bikes for the 130 mile bike ride from Chester- England to Abersoch - Wales in aid of Bolton Lads and Girls Club. there will be four of us in our team, Myself, Peter Edwards, Michael Farrimond and Allan Farrimond, probably joined by about fifty others.  I will be using my specialized hard rock comp mountain bike with armadillo tyres.

We did this last year so we are better prepared this year (not). Please support us by offering some sponsorship, no matter how small we really appreciate it. This is for a fantastic cause and one that is close to my heart.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

My chosen charity supports the lives of young people whom need mentoring, guidance and opportunities through the young hard years of life. Educating them about gang culture, knife crime, drugs and all other teenage issues. This is a fantastic charity.

New Mac quad core 27' for me...

Wed Jul 21, 2010, 4:39 PM

I have already had a birthday, and its not xmas.... I came home last night and there was a Mac quad core 1TB & 4 gb ram mac waiting for me with a copy of MS office and Adobe CS5 extended. wow.. I have been PC since time began, but I have to say the image quality and the photographs that I have taken and the rest of you guys have taken stand out, they jump off the screen. Im really inspired to take my Canon 5D MKII with my collection of lens and shoot some film :) well card I mean.
This changes everything for me, some of my images that I felt were good enough to publish on here are simply no longer good enough and will be scrapped.

The weird thing about the Mac is that I am so use to the right mouse button, the feel and the cosmetics is amazing, I am really impressed.

I am so spoilt :)  but I do work 18 hours a day. lol  I just need to learn delegation so I can contribute some time to learn some new mac skills.

Bike ride for Charity

Mon Sep 14, 2009, 12:28 AM

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September me and about 40 others did a 128 mile bike ride for Bolton Lads and Girls club, helping to raise funds to support this fantatstic charity. Me and my mate Pete did some training, went out twice a week and did 25 mles each time for five weeks, but nothing prepared us for the national cycle route 5 from Stoak (near Chester throught to cycle route 8 and Bangor through to Abersoch and the massive giant killing hills. I should call the Police for GBH to my poor body... the final 18 miles seems just like constant hills, mountains even, To some this may not sound so difficult, but This was one of the hardest things I have done. It was brilliant but horrible.... no wonder the Shirts we wore said Cycle Challenge and not Cycle Ride......  Stunning scenary and I saw parts of Wales that you would never see by car. and I left my camera at home. :(
